TEU: How competitive, in your view, is the industry you work in and are you limited to local competition or even foreign?

JJMD: Over the last four years the Maltese government has adopted a drive and strategy towards an ICT industry in Malta, SMART ISLAND. Due to this the ICT sector and its players have been given more importance in the Maltese economy. This has given ICT companies more opportunities for growth in the market and has generated further interest for individuals and businesses to create ICT start-ups. The increase in ICT players in the market reflects the increase in competition on the local market. Since Malta joined the EU, this has removed trade barriers between countries therefore competition has increased from overseas. Nevertheless, competition is healthy and drives companies to give greater value to their clients through a higher quality of service, as well as focusing on innovation that make your offerings to the market more attractive. …read more »
